周至诚从县教育局调到乡村中学，除了担任校长他还兼任初二的物理老师。他用自己做的教具给学生们上了第一堂物理课，独特的教学方法吸引了班里的学生，也吸引了教室外面放羊的孩子谷雨。周至诚发现了谷雨在物理方面的特长，不但允许他带着羊上学，还扶助他获得了物理竞赛奖，当谷雨不忍心给老师再添麻烦时，他这样鼓励谷雨：一个老师最幸福的事情，就是培养出比自己优秀的学生，他希望谷雨能够让自己感受到这样的幸福。十年后，成为让周老师自豪的学生谷雨在现代化的教室里用老师当年的教具讲了第一次物理课……。该片该片以乡村少年谷雨的视点，讲述少年谷雨与老师周至诚之间既是师生又象父子的深厚情谊歌颂了乡村教育工作者高尚而理想的人生境界，同时该片也将镜头对准了黄河三角洲开发大背景下的淳朴独特的民风民俗、自然开阔的生态环境以及生活在这块土地上的人们热爱生活、乐观互助、纯洁善良的美好精神品格。。The film was written and directed by Stuart Urban, and commissioned to mark the tenth anniversary of the Falklands War. The film was closely based on the historical record, and all of the major incidents portrayed were drawn from contemporary accounts by those who took part. Filming took place on the Falkland Islands and at Ealing Studios. Urban is a fluent Spanish-speaker, and plays an uncredited role as the Argentine radio operator.。Since the dragons have disappeared magic's vanishing.
